An image from a sad, dystopian film?

No. It's a real theme park. A sex theme park. In China.
"We are building the park for the good of the public. I have found that the majority of people support my idea, but I have to pay attention and not make the park look vulgar and nasty."

..."These things are too exposed. I will feel uncomfortable looking at them when other people are around."

... "These vulgar sex installations will only make people sick."
Helping the people "care more about female orgasm." Good luck!

I love the name Love Land. Now I have to go look up Dystopian.

Ok I got it. Dystopian is like Obama's brave new world. And to think, he actually wanted utopian but we would not fit our free lives into the narrow roles he carefully planned for us. Does that make free people into inconvenient people?

That place looks horrible but it's still better than Dollywood.

Where's the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution when we need it?

The giant genitals sound promising as a roller coaster theme, incorporating a tunnel of love.

Hmmmm. Let's think about this. A sex park in CHINA and the title is Sex Land, written in English.

I wonder who the target market
can be?

I'll probably go just to attend that workshop on how to use condoms properly.

For some reason, I can never get a condom all the way over my head without breaking it.

I imagine with 10 million more single men than women there's a whole lot more interest in what the gals might like, at least compared to the traditional Chinese male attitude.

Two vast and trunkless legs of fibreglass
Stand in the theme park
Near them, on the asphalt,
Half sunk, a shattered titty lies, whose nipple,
And bumpy areola, and lines of veiny blue,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that stroked them and the heart that loved.
And on the pedestal these words appear --
"My name is Ozymandias, babe of babes:
Look on my body, ye Horny, and despair!"

This meme of sex for men being a venture into a dark tunnel of unknown dangers needs some rethinking. The men may be remembering that they survived a government ban on more than one child. There maybe survivor guilt at work. The female should be seen as a source of life and nurture and pleasure, but the chinese man's fear of procreating illegally, or shaming the family by having a girl by accident, must make sex seem like a minefield. Love Land may have discovered a market that needs to be filled.

The PRC is very weird about morality. I run into this as a patent attorney, with their refusal to grant patents on any way to gamble, on apparently moral grounds. And, yet, if you visit many casinos (which I do for my job), you would know that the Chinese are gambling crazy.

What's so vulgar about the vulva?

They didn't say that about Rocket Park.

WTF? There are 1.25 billion people in China and they really have the nerve to build a sex theme park?

If you are worried about this theme park, search for the Tiger Balm Gardens under images. If you look long enough you should come across a few torture scenes. From what I could see they have mellowed since the 60s when a good part of the exhibiton was taken up with the many ways the Emporer inflict his wrath upon a person.

Second that.

At least they are trying though. . .

Actually, it reminds me of Silent Hill.

Inside, visitors will be able to view naked human sculptures, giant replicas of genitals and an exhibition about the history of sex and sexual practices in other countries.Leave it to the Commies to build a sex park, and then make it boring.

My (Chinese) wife and I "discovered" a "Sex Museum" in a village about two hours drive from Shanghai.

It was actually rather interesting, since many of the items were several hundred years old. The oddest item was an "abstract" painting of eight penises forming the shape of a Buddhist swastika.
